Appointment and aftercare

At your consultation, your therapist will complete a consultation form - discussing with you all the elements of the treatment, contraindications etc. A diagram will also be used to highlight the areas to be treated and measurements of each line and wrinkle. Several pictures will also be taken with a digital camera - with your permission – and these will be kept in your record so we can monitor the changes. Often people forget how deep the line or wrinkle was before the treatment.

For all clients we recommend a course of between 5 and 7 treatments to gain the maximum benefit and would not advise anything less.

Local anaesthetic cream in preparation for BioSkinJetting at Absolute AestheticsBefore the treatment starts a layer of topical anaesthetic cream is applied and while this is taking effect you can sit in our waiting area and read a magazine and have a drink. After about 30 minutes the area should be sufficiently numb to allow the treatment to be done with minimum discomfort and often pain free.

A patch test of anaesthetic cream can be done 24 hours prior to treatment if necessary.

After your treatment

Following the treatment a fine red line along the line or wrinkle appears. This is a good sign and shows that the circulation is good and will therefore encourage the production of collagen. This pink line will gradually fade over a period of 3-7 days.

With very sensitive skin sometimes a small amount of swelling can be caused and occasionally a little bruising in the treated area - again this is normal and will go down in several days. It is important though to leave the area alone and avoid touching it.

After the treatment and your aftercare has been applied, we can use camouflage make up to hide this pink line should you choose. There is then the option to purchase a small pot of the cover up so it can be applied by yourself at home and used throughout your course of treatment.

An aftercare leaflet will be given to you following your treatment to reinforce the instructions given by your therapist to gain the best results from your treatment.

We strongly recommend that following your treatment that the Bio-skin-jetting cream 1 & 2 camouflage cream is purchased and applied to the red lines morning and evening for the next two weeks until the red lines have gone.

During your course of treatment it is important that you avoid UltraViolet exposure and use sun block to cover the red lines to prevent them becoming pigmented and turning brown. This cannot be underestimated. Pigmentation can be reduced through peels and massage but can be difficult to fade completely.
